Title: First Task: Building My First E-Commerce Website   Starting My First Project After my first class with Mr. Ike, things started to get real! He gave me my first task—developing an e-commerce website. Since I was new to the WordPress system, he shared a helpful YouTube video tutorial to guide me through the process.   Learning Through the Video I watched the video step by step, carefully following along and replicating each action in WordPress. This hands-on approach made a huge difference. By doing exactly what they showed in the tutorial, I started to get more familiar with the WordPress environment.   Getting Comfortable with WordPress With each step, I grew more comfortable navigating WordPress and building out the e-commerce site. What initially felt overwhelming was becoming clearer, and I was excited about the progress I was making. Adjusting to the WordPress Environment The WordPress environment felt so strange and unfamiliar at first, but gradually, I began ...

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE IN COVENANT UNIVERSITY

Image
Here's a draft for your blog post based on the details you provided:   Anxious Arrival I arrived at the ICT center to meet the head of the ICT department. Anxiety was kicking in because I wasn’t familiar with the place, and finding my way felt like a challenge. After a bit of wandering, I finally found the right office.   The Wait and Introduction I was asked to wait for him outside, which gave me a moment to gather my thoughts. Soon enough, I saw him approach. Our conversation started with the usual questions—like which school I was from—and ended with him explaining that I’d be undergoing a three-day orientation.

Title: A New Beginning: Meeting My Web Development Instructor   Post-CISCO: Officially Assigned to Web Development After completing my two-week CISCO training, a new chapter began. I was officially handed over to my instructor for web development by the CS Director at the ICT center. I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as I prepared to dive deeper into web development.   First Impressions of Mr. Ike My instructor's name was Mr. Ike. I have to admit, at first, I felt lost and a bit intimidated by his serious demeanor. But as the saying goes, "Don’t judge a book by its cover." Mr. Ike turned out to be incredibly patient, ensuring that I understood everything he was teaching. He was a good man and an excellent teacher . Introduction to WordPress He introduced me to WordPress, showing me Covenant University’s website as an example of what we could build. The idea of creating something similar to that felt overwhelming at first—honestly, I was just staring at the screen...

FRIDAY,30TH AUGUST 2024 ---Title: Wrapping Up the Week: Finishing HTML and Starting CSS

The Last Day of Orientation for the Week It was the final day of orientation for the week, and I was excited to see what we’d cover before wrapping things up. The journey had been intense but rewarding so far.    Wrapping Up HTML We finished up our lessons on HTML, solidifying the foundation I’d built over the past few days. It felt great to finally understand how to structure a webpage from the ground up.     Introduction to CSS After wrapping up HTML, we got our first taste of CSS. We were introduced to how CSS is used to style websites and make them more visually appealing. I’m looking forward to diving deeper into this in the coming weeks.   Building a Navigation Menu One of the highlights of the day was learning how to create a navigation menu for other web pages. This feature is essential for any website, and it was exciting to learn how to implement it using both HTML and CSS.

WEDNESDAY, 28 AUGUST 2024. -- Title: A Day of Small Wins: Continuing My Web Development Journey

Balancing Office Work and Training I got a bit engrossed in something at the office before heading to the training, curious about what the day had in store for me. However, the pace was slower today, for reasons best known to the instructors.   Learning Tags and Building My Home Page Even though we didn’t cover as much material as I’d hoped, we were introduced to different HTML tags. This turned out to be a valuable addition to my skills, helping me refine the home page I had been working on with Elementor.   Reflecting on My Progress After the training, I returned to the office to reflect on everything I’d learned so far from the CISCO training. It was a good moment to consolidate my thoughts and review my progress.   Ending the Day Once I felt satisfied with my reflection, I wrapped things up and closed for the day, looking forward to what tomorrow would bring.

I couldn’t wait to see what new knowledge I’d gain as the day unfolded.   Choosing My Path When I got to the training venue, we were given the opportunity to choose which department we wanted to focus on, with options like web development, cinematography, and more. Without hesitation, I chose web development—it’s what I’m passionate about and eager to learn more.   Learning the Basics of HTML The day's training began with an introduction to the basics of HTML. We were taught about the fundamental structure of a website and how to create simple, yet functional web pages.   T ask: Building a Home Page with Elementor Our task for the day was to use Elementor, a drag-and-drop tool, to create a home page.
